| Purpose of Course | To train students in the concepts, principles and techniques of applying immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness on board, in accordance with Section A-VI/4 of the STCW Code. |
| Course Aims | This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers to provide medical first aid on board ship, in accordance with Section A-VI/4 of the STCW Code. |
| Admission Requirements | For admission to the course seafarers should have completed IMO Model Course No. 1.13 Elementary First Aid (this subject is taught in Basic Safety Training course) or attained a similar standard in elementary first aid. |
