Medical First Aid

Purpose of CourseTo train students in the concepts, principles and techniques of applying immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness on board, in accordance with Section A-VI/4 of the STCW Code.
Course AimsThis course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers to provide medical first aid on board ship, in accordance with Section A-VI/4 of the STCW Code.
Admission RequirementsFor admission to the course seafarers should have completed IMO Model Course No. 1.13 Elementary First Aid (this subject is taught in Basic Safety Training course) or attained a similar standard in elementary first aid.
